Eradication of Castes : Congratulations to the Chief Ministers

30th March 2013
Thiru. Ashok Gehlot
Hon’ble Chief Minister
Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur
Respected Sir,
I am happy to know that the Government of Rajasthan under your steward leadership as Chief Minister has announced cash award of Rs. 5 lacs to the couples of inter-caste marriage, where either the  bride or bridegroom must be a Dalit. This is a revolutionary step by your Government towards eradication of caste and emancipation of the dalits.
I extend my heartiest Congratulations and Greetings to you for this bold and revolutionary announcement in a State considered from outside as orthodox State where once ‘Sati’ and ‘Child Marriage’ were conducted.
As you are aware, our great leader from Tamil Nadu, Periyar E.V.Ramasamy all through his life fought for the liberation of the deprived sections and eradication of caste system. It was Periyar’s vision to have a casteless society and he started the Self Respect Marriage devoid of rituals way back in 1930s and only in 1967 when our leader C.N.Annadurai affectionately called by us as “Anna” became the Chief Minister, he passed a legislation to legalize the Self Respect Marriages in Tamil Nadu.
The movement started by Periyar as a Self-Respect Movement is being taken forward by his disciples to empower the women and the downtrodden and inspired every successive Government in the State of Tamil Nadu to bring many revolutionary schemes for the oppressed people. I am sure that you will think and work in that direction also to implement Self Respect Marriage in Rajasthan that will change the face of the State from an orthodox to progressive state.
With best Wishes and Greetings,
Yours affectionately,

Hon’ble Chief Minister

Respected Sir,
I am happy to know that the Government of Bihar under your steward leadership as Chief Minister, in the current budget, has increased the cash incentive from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 50,000 to the couples of inter-caste marriage. This is a progressive announcement to encourage inter-caste marriages that will eventually lead to a casteless society.
Similarly, monthly pension of Rs. 300 for the widows, Child Career Balanced Fund of Rs. 2,000 to two girls in a family and Rs. 5,000 to the bride hailing from a poor family are all essential schemes required in a society where womenfolk is considered as a burden.
I extend my heartiest Congratulations and Greetings to you for these progressive announcements for kindly acceptance.
